Biography

Steve Martin is an American comedian, actor, writer, musician, and one of the most influential figures in modern comedy. Rising to fame in the 1970s with his absurdist stand‑up style, Martin became known for his wild physical comedy, banjo playing, and iconic catchphrases.

He went on to star in classic films such as The Jerk, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Roxanne, and Father of the Bride.

Today, Martin continues to perform live with Martin Short, write books, compose music, and appear in the hit series Only Murders in the Building.
